Goldfuss on Family Tree of Dennis Kahn
Joseph BERGMAN was born in Lithuania, probably in Papile in 1876. He was the fifth child of Fiver GOCHIN and Tsipa GOLDFUSS. He only lived a short period in South Africa. In 1903 he married his niece Lena in Uitenhage. From 1904 onwards he farmed with his two brothers in the Uitenhage district. Four years later he died of pneumonia at the age of 32. He is buried in Port Elizabeth.

Fiver Gochin was my grandfather's Freika (or Frank) father. Frank emigrated to Cuba with his wife- Molly Bicovno. They had my father Morris and three girls. My father was sent from Cuba alone- at the age of about five - to live with his Aunt- in Philadelphia, PA-where the family lives today.
